Daylight savings has begun, which means more daylight hours for outdoor fun. At Thornhill Park’s first playground in Wiltshire Park, families can enjoy an exciting and active day out. It’s a popular destination for families of Melbourne’s West and even has two blog features: TOT: Hot or Not and Mamma Knows West.
Located right near the display homes and Sales and Community Centre, Wiltshire Park can be easily spotted with its distinct orange structures. The playground’s concept is inspired by volcanos, distinguishable by the orange molten lava feature running down the hill from the tower.
Older kids will love the play space for its high rope climbing course, rotating rope climb pyramid, super slides and nest swings. For the younger ones, the sand pit area is a winner, featuring two diggers and an obstacle course with stepping stones and logs. There are also two banks of swings, one of which is designed specifically for toddlers.
We haven’t forgotten about the parents either. Enjoy a shaded area complete with benches, tables and barbeques, perfect to set up an afternoon picnic, or sit and watch your children play. Water taps and bike racks are also available. With plentiful trees planted around the area, Thornhill Park’s playground offers a place of greenery for leisure and fun. You don’t need to look far to find a safe place for your children to play and explore.
Thornhill Park are proud sponsors of the Rockbank Rams and last April, NAB AFL Auskick was held in the spacious grass area of Wiltshire Park. Participants had loads of fun, met new friends and learned many skills.
Our community embraces opportunities for active lifestyles. Playing or picnicking at Wiltshire Park is just one of the ways your family can stay active and enjoy Melbourne’s beautiful spring weather. Have you explored your surroundings at your new home? Take advantage of the additional daylight hours to get active, have fun and bond with your family and friends.
Wiltshire Park – it’s yours to explore.
